Sweden, Finland: Stora Enso set to sell Pure-Pak

Stora Enso has agreed to sell its Pure-Pak converting unit to Elopak, and the deal is expected to close on 1 July. When the European Union's competition authorities approved the merger of Stora and Enso on 25 November last year, it made the requirement that Stora Enso should offer to sell Pure-Pak to Elopak.The sale of Pure-Pak, which produces some 700 million liquid packages annually, for sale in Finland, Russia and the Baltic states, reduces Stora Enso's vertical integration.
