Sweden: Fors armed with three blades
Stora Enso's Cartonboards business unit has completed the modernisation of board machine 3 (BM 3) at its Fors mill in southwestern Sweden, inaugurating the line less than two weeks ago.As well as raising the machine's capacity from 190,000 tpy to 215,000 tpy, the total rebuild, which cost about EUR 49 million ($51 million) also improved the printability of the cartonboard produced, due to the installation of triple-blade coating technology.The investment increases the mill's total capacity to 310,000 tpy. Last year, the mill posted sales totalling EUR 245 million.(Papernew)
